Technical parameters of Nordic power distribution boxes

Nordic power distribution boxes are modular electrical enclosures designed for safe, efficient power distribution, typically featuring LV/MV compartments, circuit protection, bus bars, and optional smart monitoring.

Key Specifications

Voltage and System Compatibility: Nordic distribution boxes are generally designed for low-voltage (LV) and medium-voltage (MV) systems, with typical LV operation at 433 V, 3-phase, 4-wire, 50 Hz AC. They are installed at secondary terminals of distribution transformers and can integrate with both indoor and outdoor environments. Construction and Materials: Enclosures are made from epoxy-coated or powder-coated stainless steel or engineering thermoplastics such as Polycarbonate (PC) or Acrylonitrile Styrene Acrylate (ASA).

Structural frames often use S235J2 steel or higher, with raised steel structures for transport strength and cable management. Base frames are mounted on neoprene pads for vibration isolation and secured to concrete slabs with mounting kits. Exterior finishes typically use RAL 7035 color with epoxy primer and polyurethane enamel for durability.

Components and Protection Devices: Circuit breakers (MCCB/MCB) for overload and short-circuit protection. Residual Current Circuit Breakers (RCCB) for enhanced safety against leakage currents. Isolators for manual disconnection during maintenance.

Bus bars for power distribution to multiple circuits. Contactors, CTs, energy meters, and LT gas-filled fixed capacitors for monitoring and control.

Optional GPR

S interface and controllers for remote monitoring and energy audit data collection. Modularity and Assembly: Prefabricated Electrical SKIDs can be delivered in multiple transportable parts (LV and MV SKIDs) and assembled on-site. Interconnections include LV busbar to transformer and hardwired signaling via marshalling boxes.

Lifting points and heavy-duty shipping covers ensure safe transport and installation. Smart Features: Modern Nordic boxes may include energy monitoring units, communication modules, and cyber-secure electrical power monitoring software for real-time visibility and remote control. These features support integration with home automation or industrial energy management systems.

Environmental and Safety Compliance: Designed to be weatherproof and vermin-proof for outdoor installations. Compliance with EU directives and local electrical codes ensures safe operation in industrial and residential settings. Weight and Dimensions: Base frame load capacity is typically ≥1250 kg/m², with structural reinforcements where required.

Preliminary base height is around 240 mm, adjustable for entry steps and accessibility. Nordic power distribution boxes combine robust construction, modular design, and advanced monitoring capabilities, making them suitable for modern industrial, commercial, and utility applications while ensuring safety, reliability, and operational flexibility.
